Fantastic for local travel, too!

This bag -- featuring pockets to hold your ID, boarding pass, and passport -- is marketed to the airline traveler; but don"t underestimate the practicality of those pockets for the urban traveler as well.

I bought this bag to hold my Metro pass at my fingertips and in addition to the pass, I employ the bag to carry a transit map, a notebook and pen, my wallet, a pedometer, a camera, and -- the reason I"m writing a review -- my Kindle. It"s the perfect bag for commuting, keeping everything I need at my fingertips (no fiddling with my wallet on public transport!) and fitting the Kindle I read on the train fairly well WITH THE COVER ON.

I had originally stored my Kindle in the main compartment of this bag, limiting the space for all of my other items (don"t let some reviews idiot you, this bag has a lot of small, specific pockets and isn"t meant to carry a lot of miscellany). Then I learned that the Kindle fits perfectly in the rear zippered compartment of the bag, leaving the inner compartment for the items I"d regularly carry in a purse. Winner!

Other reviewers complain that the strap is less than perfect for shoulder employ (as it also converts to a waist strap). It should be famous, though, that the strap is detachable and easily replaced with whatever you prefer. I chose to attach the strap from an ancient purse, which has worked perfectly for me.

Final word: whether the size of the bag is correct for you will depend very much on how you plot to employ it. If you"re looking for something exceptionally handy to manage the certain number of items with which you commute or travel regularly, this is a fantastic bag. If, but, you like to acquire a bag with a small additional room for stuffing in the things you find during your excursions, you might want to see for something a tad larger.

Admire this bag!

Just received this bag earlier nowadays and acquire already used it for my weekly trip to the farmers market. ADMIRE IT! I"d been carrying a pretty LARGE handbag and really got ALL the stuff from that bag to fit in this one! INCREDIBLE! I was most surprised to be able to fit my rather large wallet/checkbook into this bag..but it fit just fine. If I can find any flaw it would be that the strap is a tad narrow for my taste. It would be a small more cofortable with a wider strap. But I can deal with that fine. I acquire two other Travelon bags, but like this one the best by far. Can"t wait to employ this bag on my vacation in October!
So much room, yet so compact!

This messenger bag is fantastic. I counted literally 12 pockets (including cell phone and water bottle pouches) on this bag. The main compartment is very spacious yet the bag looks no wider than any of the other Travelon purses I"ve owned!

I really like the fabric a lot more on this one. I acquire owned a total of 4 Travelon purses and all of them had lots of compartments and incredible fabric, but this one really takes the cake. The fabric is generally very thick and durable on all Travelon purses, but on this one the fabric is really kind of stiffer, which I really liked. That means the bag won"t fold and see weird in certain spots. It"s nearly like lunch box fabric, but not fairly, and I"m not certain if that"s what they were going for, but it certainly looks fantastic.

The only con I could find was that I consider the strap was really thin for how huge the bag was. On other Travelon purses, the strap is generally very thick, but on this one that wasn"t the case. I did like the fact that it was detachable, so I took another detachable strap, which was way thicker, and place it on this purse and voila! Much better! Other than that small qualm, it"s fantastic! We"ll see how long the strap rings hold up over time though. I"ve had straps rip off on preceding Travelon purses I"ve owned, so perhaps the whole detachable strap rings is a better way to go.

The number of pockets is simply incredible and it is the perfect size. I will not buy anything above 9" in height or width because I refuse to be one of those ladies who carries a flipping suitcase around on her shoulder XD lol So if you want an extremely compact bag, Travelon is always the way to go, and I consider this is probably one of their best ones yet. They just need to fix the thin strap problem and it"s that much more awesome.

Another feature I really loved, and which I thought was an improvement from preceding Travelon products, is the magnetized flap. They chose to place the magnets on the inside of the fabric instead of on the external. My first Travelon Purse, I had the problem of the magnet coming clean off because I was always opening the flap so much and I also race around a lot so the bag would bounce. That place a lot of strain on the magnet, which there was only one of. Now Travelon is using two magnets per flap and putting them on the inside of the fabric, so not only does it see much better, it also functions much better at keeping the flap closed down.

Fashion-wise, I find Travelon"s bags to be minimalistically stylish enough to wear with any outfit and you won"t see too underdressed, no matter what the occasion. The fabric is durable, yet shiny and soft enough to not see trashy or too manly :) I highly recommend this product!
Admire the bag - despise the strap

Bought this bag from TravelSupplyStore and shipping was VERY QUICK. I really admire the see and organizational feature of the bag, and it"s really nice - dressy enough for commerce occasions as well as casual outtings. The problem is, the thin and rough webbing strap makes the bag feel ten times heavier and is very uncomfortable to wear cross body. In its shortest length it"s supposed to be worn as a waist bag, but the strap is still too long and it hangs way too low on my thighs. Of course I am a size 6 so heavier people may not acquire this problem. Also the webbing fabric catches sweater fiber and rubs bare shoulders when walking. If I can find a different (hopefully leather) strap that"s shorter and twice as wide I perhaps able to hold it - as I really admire how it can hold tons of stuff in such a small package - yes tons of stuff means it can be heavier than you consider, particularly when you add a bottle of water - but isn"t that water bottle holder what made you buy this bag in the first space?

The excellent news is the store is really excellent about returns. Also the straps are easily detachable and replaceable. The frightful news is that a wider strap may ruin the clean looks a bit and you may even need to sew your own. Overall I acquire mixed feeling about this bag. I really want to acquire this bag, but need someone else to carry it for me.

By the way, I chose the leopard print, which is VERY NICE and kind of dressy. It matches my mini umbrella which also fits in it.
